Long-distance phone scam

Complaint: I canceled my subscription to a long-distance agency in
January of this year, but I kept getting bills, so I called back in
April and was told that there was a mistake on the company's part and
the account would be canceled, and I would not have to pay the bill
that has been accumulated. However, I keep getting bills every month,
and I have called the customer service agency at least 4-5 times. They
keep telling me someone will call back to resolve the issue, but no
one calls back. I did receive a call once, but the lady said that I
would have to pay the bill, and she could only give me a $5 discount
because I was supposed to switch company\'s on my own. This was the
first time I heard of switching companies and told her so, but she
either refused or could not understand my concerns. Now I have been
told if I dont pay the bill, it might be sent to a Collection Agency.
However, I do not want to pay for a service I cancelled 6 months ago.
